90 Days: Thoughts on Judges 3:28-15:12

·      The two most important words in Scripture: “Follow Me” (Judges 3)

·      Sometimes the Lord will take you into difficult situations. (Judges 3)

·      Do good in the eyes of the Lord.  (Judges 4)

·      The justice of the Lord is complete. (Judges 4)

·      When leaders turn away, the Lord will choose new ones.  Sometimes from the most unlikely places. (Judges 5)

·      “When the princes in Israel take the lead, when the people willing offer themselves-praise the Lord!” (Judges 5)

·      God is with you even when you do not see his blessing. (Judges 6)

·      God will wait.  He is patient.  (Judges 6)

·      His power exposes our weakness. (Judges 6)

·      Following the Lord will bring critique and threats from others. (Judges 6)

·      The greatest strength one can bring to the Lord is faith. (Judges 7)

·      Leaders step out when others run away but the followers will return. Judges 7)

·      The Lord will often use our weaknesses to show His strength. (Judges 7)

·      The Lord will bring Justice. (Judges 8)

·      In seasons of success pride is deadly.  Stay humble and remember the one who blesses you. (Judges 8)

·      When one seizes power he often kills others close to him. (Judges 9)

·      Be careful not to fall under the leadership of one with thorns (Judges 9)

·      We often forget where we come from. (Judges 10_

·      Your heritage does not determine your future. (Judges 10)

·      After success the critiques often emerge. (Judges 12)

·      When we turn away from Him God still speaks (Judges 13)

·      Sometimes the Lord leads us into conflict.  Handle this well. (Judges 14)

·      Make sure you can trust those close to you.  Choose those with great character over intellect and beauty.  (Judges 14)

90 Days: Joshua 15:1-Judges 3:27

·      Scripture is set in history.  These are real stories, real people, and real places.  It is not a fairy tale. (Joshua 15)

·      If your daughter is beautiful, men will go to war for her. (Joshua 15)

·      When God blesses, there is plenty for everybody. (Joshua 16)

·      Conquering is the easy part.  The real work is building the community. (Joshua 18)

·      Build systems of grace.  Freely give others a second chance. (Joshua 20)

·      The Lord keeps his promises.  He is faithful. (Joshua 21)

·      “Love the Lord you God, walk in obedience to him, keep his commands, hold fast to him, serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Joshua 22)

·      Do not expect the worst of others.  Listen first. Be slow to anger, slow to react.  (Joshua 22)

·      If we obey Him, the Lord will fight for us. (Joshua 23)

·      God is the hero. (Joshua 23)

·      Do not turn away from Him. (Joshua 23)

·      Remember the story of what God has done for you.  Tell it to you children. (Joshua 24)

·      What are your foreign gods?  Throw them away. (Joshua 24)

·      Joshua did well.  What a great leader. (Joshua 24)

·      The Lord will not break his promises.  We are the variable not him. (Judges 2)

·      Pass on what you know to the next generation.  These transitions are critical. (Judges 2)

·      The faithfulness of one person can cover the sin of many. (Judges 2)

·      Conflict will make you stronger if you trust God. (Judges 3)
